Have You Suffered Betrayal or Loss?

I had an amazing dream in Michigan in early August...

I started walking toward people in my dream. Then I ran toward the next person and then the next and Jesus stood before them, a distance away. He said, “Amy, stop. You have done all you can. I know you want to make things right, but it’s out of your control now. You have to let it go and trust Me. Bring the grief, the loss and the burdens to me. Leave them with me.” And then I saw Jesus place His hand over my heart that was shredded and bleeding from all the pain. He healed me and made my heart whole.

I talked to Jesus about all the betrayal, the broken trust, the hurt Eric and I have been through on many levels over these last few years. I told him about being stabbed in the back and finding it hard to trust again. Again, Jesus told me He understood my pain better than anyone. He said, “I see how you have worked on forgiving, healing and moving past the pain. I want to show you something.” He reached toward my back and drew out what I thought was a large knife, but it was actually a big, shiny, silver sword.

And then Jesus took the sword and put it in my hand. He said, “the very thing the enemy used to try and defeat you, you will now turn on him and use it to defeat him. Go slay some giants Amy! Help set some people free!

I saw myself run toward someone being oppressed and I wielded my sword at the enemy and he fled. I helped the person to their feet and they were free. Then I ran toward the next person. . .

I truly believe you are reading this because you have been through or know someone who has been through a similar situation. I think this dream is for you too! I want to encourage you that God will take your greatest pain and use it to bring about your greatest purpose. Just let God in, let Him heal your heart, ask Him to make you whole. Forgive those who have hurt you, bless them and let them go. Look to Jesus to be your Deliverer and let Him heal you, so you can repurpose that pain to fulfill your destiny and be a part of the freedom, the healing and the justice your family, community and nation need!

Isaiah 61:1-3 “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the Lord has appointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to announce that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent to me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair. . .”
